Common support and usage questions.
There are a few common mistakes people make when attempting to access RISASection files in RISA 3D:
Go to the Modify pull down menu and select Shape Database. Go to the General tab and select RISASection from the Database/Manufacturers dropdown box. Select RISASection and your shapes will be listed.
Each RISASection file has the ability to contain multiple section names. RISA-3D reads the section NAME, not the file name. The name of the section is the label in the Sections in Current File portion of the RISASection file. You may need to rename your sections before saving your file. You can do this by clicking Section > Rename Sections from the Main Menu Toolbar within RISA Section. Please note that you must have unique section names in each file, as RISA-3D cannot recognize two sections with the same name. If two sections have the same name, RISA-3D will only list one of the sections.
Check the File Location settings for RISA Section Files under Tools > Preferences. When RISA-3D launches, it will search for RISASection files only in the directory listed in Tools > Preferences.
RISA-3D only reads RISASection files when it is first launched. Therefore, you must close and restart RISA 3D after creating the file in RISASection.
